Organized by the Andrew Simpson Watersports Center School


Five-day sailing weeks are organized by the Andrew Simpson Watersports Centre. The sport activity is carried out on the ground and in water from 9.00 to 17.00. In the evening, the instructors conduct entertainment and surveillance activities during the night. Before and after the practical activity theory lessons are organized that help to plan the activities and serve to make understand the operation of the sailboat.

Price and details.

Price is630€ per person for 5 days activity. From Monday at 9:00 to Friday at 17:00.
All inclusive of accomodation and 3 meals per day.
Night survaillance included.

9:15 - How to rig the boat.
9:45 - Main knots.
10:15 - Environmental observations.

10:30 - In the water.

12:15 - Return and safety.
12:30 - Lunch break.
13:30 - In the water
13:45 - Exercises:

  • sail regulation.
  • luff and rest.
16:00 - Return and disarmament.
16:20 - Commentary and interventions.
17:00 - Science lesson in English.
20:00 - Dinner.

Topics covered

The activities in water and on the ground are all very interesting and fun. The instructors operate tried and tested methods to make the participants interact with each other and with nature. All instructors are native English speakers and all educational and recreational activities are conducted in English . Below is a non-exhaustive list of activities.

  • Maintenance and storage of the boat

  • Upwind, loose and stern and wind direction.

Sailing . Water exercises:
  • weight distribution;
  • use of the rudder;
  • crew position;
  • elementary technique of the maneuvers: elementary turn;
  • return and disarmament;
  • direction control;
  • sail regulation;
  • luff and rest;
  • the bowline;
  • rule with sails or with weight.

Kayak . Exercises on land and in water:
  • kayak safety;
  • how to change direction;
  • optimize rowing;
  • rotation and direction;
  • plan a day on kayak.

SUP. Exercises on land and in water:
  • safety on board;
  • how to keep the equipment under control;
  • how to change direction;
  • how to pedal efficiently;
  • plan a trip.

Windsurfing. Exercises on land and in water:
  • how to rotate in place;
  • security position;
  • position of the feet in movement;
  • Butterfly technique;
  • departure and stop;
  • how to arm the sail and which one to use;
  • outline of regulations;
  • signals in water.
