FX Open Series, Lake Garda 2025: Tied at the Top, but Italy Leads
Day three of the FX Open Series – Lake Garda 2025 brought another spectacular day of racing in Campione del Garda. The famous southerly “Ora del Garda” breeze blew steadily at 12–14 knots, providing perfect conditions for four more thrilling races.
After twelve races and two discards, the fight for the top spot is tighter than ever: Italy and Switzerland are tied at 31 points, but Italians Lorenzo Rossi and Marco Alberti (ITA 346) take the lead on countback, thanks to having more first-place finishes.
The duo from Società Canottieri Garda Salò found excellent form today, scoring two race wins and closing the day tied with Swiss sailors Simon Mille and Theo Kowalewski (SUI 515) of CVE / Zürcher Yacht Club, who maintain impressive consistency with another series of top-three results.
In third place, just two points behind, are fellow Italians Alessio and Walter Bonizzoni (ITA 434), also representing Canottieri Garda Salò, keeping the podium all but locked for the club that trains regularly in Campione.
With steady breeze and high-level racing, anticipation builds for tomorrow’s final showdown that will crown the FX Open Series 2025 champions.
