Campione del Garda, May 5th, 2025 – Univela is pleased to announce the first leg of the Italian Switch Cup Guess Jeans circuit, which will take place in Campione del Garda from Friday, May 23rd to Sunday, May 25th, 2025. Endorsed by the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV) and organized in collaboration with the Italian Switch Class, this event marks the Promo Grand Prix of the season, bringing together the most competitive crews on one of the most scenic and technically demanding racing venues in Italy.

On Wednesday, May 21st and Thursday, May 22nd, a training session with a dedicated coach will be held for participants ahead of the regatta weekend.

The event will feature qualifying races and final heats, with a daily schedule including technical briefings, windward-leeward races. The award ceremony will take place at the Univela club, accompanied by an aperitif and evening entertainment for athletes and guests.

The “Switch Cup Guess Jeans” Circuit

The 2025 season marks the debut of the Switch Cup Guess Jeans, a completely redefined regatta series made possible thanks to the support and collaboration of Guess Jeans. The partnership aims to combine high-performance sailing with style, offering athletes a competitive experience and a coordinated image aligned with global trends.

Race format: One-design races on Switch boats
Stops: 5 events across Italy (Campione del Garda, Torbole, Dongo, Talamone, Cagliari) + international event in Malcesine

What is the Switch?

The Switch is a foiling one-design sailboat, designed to deliver lightweight structure, durability, and high performance in all wind conditions.

Hull:

• Carbon epoxy laminate with a PVC core for a strong yet lightweight structure

• Thin gelcoat layer for quick and easy repairs

• CNC-machined Delrin bearings for mast and rudder for precise, play-free fittings

Wing and Foils:

• Three-part wing (front beam, stern beam, two outboard beams) in vacuum-cured prepreg, assembled with CNC jigs for consistency and stiffness

• Foils made from high- and intermediate-modulus prepreg for an optimal balance of stiffness and resilience, meeting strict one-design standards

Mast and Boom:

• Three-piece CST carbon tube system for repeatability and precision

• 15° bent carbon boom with CNC-machined aluminum vang lever

Performance:

• Speed: Over 19 knots upwind and 30+ knots top speed

• Take-off: In just 6 knots of wind

• Rig control: Cunningham 1:24, Vang 1:48, mainsheet 5:1, foil height adjuster
