Chanel’s new Haute Joaillerie Collection N°5 chose Lake Garda as the backdrop for its official commercial. The video was filmed in Campione del Garda, at the Univela sports and nautical center.

A major production effort

The large-scale production was entrusted to Circus Studios. Univela served as the operational partner for all water-based logistics, providing its expertise in maritime coordination and management of watercraft.

A spectacular aquatic set

At the heart of the shoot was a fully mirrored 6x6 meter floating platform, assembled on land, then transported to the middle of the lake by the Univela team using cranes and motorboats.

A complex system of support boats ensured smooth operation on the water. Safety was guaranteed at all times by Univela’s instructors and volunteers, under the coordination of Tristano Vacondio (marine coordinator) and Simone Risatti (logistics and operations).

Univela turned into a film hub

During the filming days, Univela became a full-fledged film production center. The main hangar, usually reserved for Olympic-class boats, was transformed into a photographic studio.

Tents for filming equipment were set up on the lawn typically used by the kitesurfing school. The Univela dock was completely covered with mirrored aluminum panels, becoming a central scenic element now remembered as the "Chanel Pier."

Why Campione del Garda

The choice of Campione del Garda as the location was no coincidence. The unique light reflected on the lake’s surface, the absence of nautical traffic, and the natural tranquility of the site—located within the Alto Garda Bresciano Park convinced the production team.

As director Gordon Von Steiner emphasized, “The light on Lake Garda creates atmospheres reminiscent of Norwegian fjords, Thailand, and the Caribbean, but with a distinctly Italian identity.” The technical and organizational support from Univela was also key to ensuring the success of such a complex operation in total safety.

Due to the importance of the collection and the value of the jewelry used, the entire area was subject to strict security protocols. Confidentiality was maintained until the official release of the commercial by Chanel on May 7, 2025.

An international success

The dedicated collection page on Chanel’s website showcases the inspiration and elegance of the line through footage filmed in Campione del Garda, strengthening the bond between French haute couture and Italian landscape excellence.
