Changing is always great, trying something different, the spark we feel when we discover something. That is exactly why we suggest you a short trip from Campione del Garda, towards Tignale, precisely to Montecastello’s shrine. This ancient chapel is located at the top of a calcareous mountain and the view from there is just breathtaking. The panorama stretches from Corno di Reamol, through majestic Monte Baldo guarding Malcesine, to Sirmione peninsula. Many lookout points can be found in the ten-minute walk to the Montecastello cross, where you can peek at the sanctuary from the back and enjoy the lake view. In addition to the amazing landscape, this place preserves the cultural heritage starting from the Casa Santa, a little temple from 800 AD, on which the current church is built. The shrine, devoted to Our Lady, is frescoed in a Giotto’s style still in good condition.
