Who We Are
Located on the northwestern shore of Lake Garda, Univela is one of the best places to learn and race thanks to regular and predictable wind conditions. The Univela team runs summer camps and sailing courses for small and large groups, combining the sailing school and on site accommodation in the same facility. Univela also organizes international regattas for many classes of dinghies and catamarans, as well as events for windsurfing, kitesurfing and wing.

Compensation and responsibilities vary according to role, qualifications, language skills and previous experience.
Your Profile
We are looking for people who can support the existing team during our busiest months, both in daily school activities and during events and races.
To work as a sailing instructor you need a mix of technical knowledge, practical skills, certifications and experience on the water. Below is a list of common requirements for instructor level roles:
Certifications: Internationally recognized sailing certifications issued by organizations such as the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), the American Sailing Association (ASA) or the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV).
Advanced Sailing Skills: Solid understanding of sailing, including boat handling, sail trim, reading wind and waves and managing safety on the water.
Sailing Experience: Significant time on the water and practical experience on different types of boats and in different weather conditions.
Communication Skills: Ability to explain concepts clearly, give structured instructions and communicate effectively with students and team members.
Teaching Ability: Capacity to plan and run effective lessons, adapting the method to the level, age and needs of each group.
Knowledge of Safety Regulations: Strong understanding of safety rules on the water, including basic protocols for first aid, use of safety equipment and emergency management.
First Aid and CPR: Valid certification in first aid, CPR and basic management of medical emergencies.
Equipment Knowledge: Confidence in using and maintaining sailing equipment, including sails, ropes, control systems and basic boat maintenance.
Group Management Skills: Leadership and group management skills to run sessions safely and keep students engaged on the water and on shore.
Professional Attitude: Reliability, sense of responsibility and a professional approach with students, families, colleagues and partners.
Ongoing Training: Willingness to keep learning and updating your skills through refresher courses and new certifications.
Knowledge of Local Rules: Good understanding of local navigation rules and regulations that apply to boating and safety on the lake.
Insurance and Liability: Awareness of the insurance requirements and legal responsibilities connected with working as a sailing instructor.

Accommodation
If you need accommodation, we can host you in the available staff apartments in Campione del Garda.
Compensation
Compensation depends on your role, qualifications, language skills and previous experience. For shorter periods we usually offer daily contracts, while for people who stay for most of the season we can offer monthly contracts.
Examples of Compensation
Below are examples of net compensation that may vary based on accommodation needs, experience and the type of contract offered:
- Compensation for half a day: €50
- Compensation for a full day: €80
- Compensation for a full time month: €1600
Working Season
The school operates from May 1st to October 30th.
Working Hours
The sailing school is usually open from 9:00 to 17:30.
